Owner and Chef, Sam Giumarello, Jr.
From a young age, Chef Sam Giumarello, Jr. taught himself to cook, dreaming of one day owning his own restaurant. That passion led him to the Academy of Culinary Arts in Mays Landing, where he graduated in 1986. At just 21, fueled by family support and unwavering determination, Sam opened the doors to Giumarello's in 1988, with modest beginnings in Haddon Heights during a blizzard that couldn't stop the momentum.
Today, nearly four decades later, Chef Sam remains deeply hands-on as owner and chef at our single-location gem in Haddon Township, NJ. He personally oversees the kitchen, evolving the menu with fresh, high-quality ingredients while honoring family-inspired Northern Italian traditions, blending them with premium steaks, a fresh raw bar, and bold flavors. The restaurant's aesthetics, offerings, and welcoming vibe continue to evolve under his guidance—always with the goal of delivering exceptional experiences that keep generations of South Jersey locals coming back.
